Railroad Engineering and Education Symposium 2016
REES 2016
The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association
(AREMA) is the railway industry’s professional organization that, among
its other goals, promotes railway engineering education. In response to
this challenge, AREMA’s Education and Training Committee developed the
Railway Engineering Education Symposium (REES). REES is intended to
foster interest among university faculty in railway engineering with the
goal of encouraging and supporting their interest in adding railway
engineering content to their current engineering courses and curricula.
The inaugural REES was held in June 2008, at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, Illinois.
REES 2016 was part of The Railway
Academic Conference (TRAC) on July 12-14 at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), in conjunction with the annual meeting of
the National University Rail Center (NURail). The seven introductory
REES content modules are available online for downloading and review
prior to the event. REES modules related to civil, electrical and
mechanical engineering were presented on July 12.
